Distributed Ledger Technology in Action: Public Sector Use Cases

01 March @ 2:00 pm - 3:00 pm, #DigiLounge

Data board meeting

ABOUT THIS TALK

This talk will be given by Peter Ferry, SICCAR

Distributed Ledger is a technology with the means to establish trust between people and organisations. They help us be confident that data is reliable, that we can trust its source, while still retaining control and confidentiality over our data.

As the COVID crisis drives any remaining in-person and paper-based processes online, DLT is uniquely positioned to make distributed data and credential sharing part of societies’ infrastructure.

This talk will showcase real DLT use cases in progress in the Scottish public sector now – including application in health and social care, and the student funding process. After this session, you will have a better understanding of the problems DLT can solve, and may even have ideas for its application in your organisation.
