Discussion: Vehicles as power plants – Achieving integrated, low-carbon energy for all

18 June @ 6:30 pm - 8:30 pm, Urban Sciences Building, 1 Science Square, Newcastle upon Tyne, NE4 5TG

Automotive and other vehicles such as trains, trams and planes move us around the planet like never before. But what if they could also be used to store energy and supply it to the grid using vehicle-to-grid infrastructure? What business and development opportunities could result from this venture? How if it all could it help the world in making the low-carbon transition for mitigating climate change? Join us for an engaging discussion on how electric battery powered vehicles provide new opportunities for electricity grid assets, energy storage and decarbonising the energy system.

This is a Cafe Scientifique style event focusing on discussion and contributions from participants. All are welcome. There will be opportunities to engage and network with small to medium enterprises, public and voluntary sectors, academic researchers and citizens.

Dr Andrew Jenkins, InTEGRel, Newcastle University
