Digital things also come in threes

Robin Knowles at the National Digital Conference

Written by Robin Knowles, CEO at Digital Leaders

Our Summer Programme was one of the most exciting to be involved in yet, culminating in June 2018 with our second Digital Leaders Week, the 13th National Digital Conference and the 5th DL100 Awards.

DLWeek saw three times as much activity taking place as the year before and over 11,000 Digital leaders taking part. A huge thank you to the 100 plus partners who made it possible.

The next Digital Leaders Week, 17th – 21st June 2019, seems a long way off, but as the programme steps up to a whole new level next year, thanks to our partners at Nominet, so we have already started planning even now for next year.

I would urge you to make 2019 the year you and your organisation get involved. So, it’s not too early to get in touch and involved.

2018 also sees new collaborations with GDS Innovation and the new Government office for AI and some exciting new partners like Virgin Business and partnering with Tech for Good platform Digital Agenda.

Three new initiatives for Autumn 2018

As our new season starts this autumn, we have once again been listening to you, the Digital Leaders community, and I am pleased to announce three new initiatives for 2018/19 which hopefully will add some of the new activities you have asked us for:

Transform

The biggest change is a new Digital Leaders Platform, called Transform. It’s where Digital Leaders can share, learn and network around our topics. DL Transform will be rolling out over the Autumn and is designed for those looking for that next level of engagement, allowing you to personalise your experience, to access short topic related online learning and to give back to other Digital Leaders by uploading your knowledge and experience.

It’s your new space to access the curated content; thought leadership; and invitations you already receive, but in an interactive, supported by experts’ network offering you direct access to our community. And of course it’s free.

So if you are one of those ready to share, to learn and to help others then it’s time to check out Transform.

Digital Leaders Academy

We are getting underway with an Academy, which we hope will respond to your Digital Leadership training needs. We plan to work with the best trainers and content out there so please do check back regularly to see new training as we make it available.

In October we are very excited to be offering a half-day (4-hour course) with CPD accreditation called “Developing your Digital Mindset”. It has been developed in partnership with Google training partners “Upskill Digital”. The course will be delivered by Myles Runham, who many of you will know from his recent role as Head of Digital at the BBC Academy. This course will suit any leader wanting a digital refresh.

We are offering the course over two days in October in London. Find out more here.

Digital Leaders Podcast

Our third new initiative for 2018 is the Digital Leaders Podcast.

Increasingly we are all consuming online content as podcasts and what better way to spend your commute or quiet moments than by listening to and being inspired by some of the awesome Digital Leaders in our community.

The first season of 12 will run weekly from mid-September until Christmas. It will be a blend of the well-known, such as Sherry Coutu and Tony Blair, but also some less well known yet, including who are launching, disrupting and leading exciting initiatives like Paul Van Zahl at the Conduit, Expedia’s supremo Ariane Gorin and AI specialist Tabitha Goldstaub.

I hope you like it. You can sign-up to receive the podcast here.
