The innovative use of chatbots has transformed the way that Newcastle City Council interacts with the public. These bots are improving the customer experience and reducing costs, and include:

  • Wastebot – delivering an improvement in processing times from 14 days to 90 seconds and 100% channel shift through use of an SMS bot
  • Adult Social Care Chatbot – shortlisted for #DigitalLeaders100 list 2019 in Innovation of the Year, helping people to access information and guidance on a range of social care topics using web based natural language processing bot.
