Webinar: A new open source library for local government digital services

19 June @ 2:00 pm - 3:00 pm, Webinar

Mark Thompson

Join the discussion between Dr Mark Thompson, a key architect of the UK government’s open IT strategy, Director of Strategy at Methods Digital, and senior lecturer at Cambridge Judge Business School and Richard Friend, Director of Customer Success at Jadu, a Web Experience Management software company to discuss the launch of the new Jadu library.

What is the Jadu Library?

  • A community driven repository of shared material where local authorities and partners can collaborate by uploading and downloading assets for building digital services
  • Enables the sharing and reusing of work
  • Helps councils to become hubs for economic and social exchange
  • Councils can capitalise on what is already available and use service specialists

Although initially populated by Jadu users, the library is based on a Github repository that can hold any type of asset and therefore generic assets – such as process flows, test scripts and service design documentation. The most important thing – they can all be surfaced and shared.

Richard and Mark will discuss:

  • How public sector organisations can use the library
  • Who’s already using the library – use cases and examples
  • Overall vision for ‘building a lego government’

The webinar will consist of a 30-minute presentation followed by a 30 minute interactive Q&A.
