Salon: Closing the digital skills gap in Northern Ireland

20 February @ 12:00 pm - 2:00 pm, Belfast

Jim McCooe Digital Skills Gap

The rate of expansion of Northern Ireland’s technology industry means there is an immediate shortage of experienced, skilled professionals.

This is hindering the growth of the sector, particularly in Belfast. Many employers report difficulty in recruiting skilled workers and the need for more to be done to raise the profile of the sector with young people and encourage them to consider STEM subjects.

Join our lead discussants, including Jim McCooe, Northern Ireland Ambassador for Lloyds Banking Group, as we discuss and examine what can be done to encourage young people in Northern Ireland to pursue digital careers.

Participants will be drawn from the business and voluntary sectors, and also include policymakers and educationalists.

The output from the event will be a summary report with a set of recommendations based on the discussions.

This is an invitation-only event. To request a place, please use the registration button.
