DWP Digital tech talks: Empathy in accessibility

01 May @ 3:00 pm - 5:00 pm, Hippo Digital, Aireside House, Aire Street, Leeds, LS1 4HT

As part of Leeds Digital Festival, DWP Digital is hosting a series of “tech talks” on 1 May demonstrating how they’re using design, data and technology to solve some of the UK’s biggest digital challenges.

The third, also the final talk of the series is “Empathy in accessibility”, happening from 15:00 – 17:00.

Attend to listen to Senior Interaction Designer Craig Abbott, who will talk you through building empathy for users with impairments, making sure we are aware of how to design services that don’t disable people.

As an interaction designer working on digital services in government, accessibility is the priority in Craig’s work.

He will give examples of things that have tripped him up in the past as well as suggesting tools that can be used to help us test our designs.
