The 6th Annual Impact Awards took place yesterday at London’s Ministry of Sound, and once again highlighted the latest champions of Tech for Good across the UK.

The Digital Leaders Impact Awards celebrate technological innovations that improve people’s lives and the world around us.

Now in their sixth year, the awards were open to any UK-operating business, government department or non-profit using digital products or services for positive social impact. The 39 finalists were chosen out of 500 nominees from across the UK who are leading the way in digital transformation in all sectors.

Sponsors included headline sponsor Inakalum, as well as Anaeko, Bates Wells, Digital Poverty Alliance, Target Group, Tahora, TPX Impact and Zen City.

Winners this year included: the NHS COVID Pass in the new Pandemic Innovation Category; School of Code in the Employment & Skills Category; and Riverford Organic Farmers in the inaugural Net Zero Category.

In addition, the coveted People’s Choice Award rewarded the most popular finalist in a public vote. The prize – based on over 5,000 votes – went to Pandemic Innovation Category finalists The Welsh Immunisation System.

Previous winners include industry giants such as: NHS 111, Founders4Schools, Annika Small and Bethnal Green Ventures.

The 500 nominees went through two rounds of judging: first, a judging panel of industry experts shortlisted the entrants to three finalists in each category. Then, a separate judging panel met each of the finalists at a ‘pitch-style’ event and decided on the ultimate winners.
