Delivering the North’s Culture Digitally

20 June @ 4:00 pm - 6:00 pm, Newcastle upon Tyne

In Newcastle during Digital Leaders Week we looked at the coming together of the Digital Culture Agenda and the Great Exhibition of the North.

Earlier this year DCMS launched its Culture Is Digital initiative, which will help government, the tech and creative industries explore how the sectors can complement each other. Even more recently, it was announced that Newcastle-Gateshead had been chosen to host the Great Exhibition of the North.

We discussed Tynesides’ ambitious plans to showcase its fantastic venues across the city and highlight their unique heritage, culture and design.

The discussion was chaired by Jim Mawdsley, CEO of Generator and led by Joanna Wake, MD of Raw Digital, Marc Burns, Digital Lead at NGI and Sue Yoxall, Director, at mkodo  looking at the opportunities this will bring to the regions digital economy including the platforms required for culture activity and events and the visitor engagement agenda opportunities for hotels and venues.
