Digital Manufacturing on a Shoestring is a project that is led by the Institute for Manufacturing (part of the University of Cambridge’s Department of Engineering), and is funded through an Engineering and Physical Sciences Research Council grant. The University of Nottingham are a key partner in the delivery of the project.

Dorset EMC have partnered with the Institute for Manufacturing to raise awareness of the affordable digital manufacturing tools available, and how they can help manufacturing SME’s based in Dorset.

Come along to the this event to find out more about the project and how it benefits SMEs, through its research, workshops, pilot projects, hackathons and other activities. The project is creating digital manufacturing developments for SMEs that are:

  • Accessible
  • Useful
  • Pragmatic
  • Affordable

Through this co-development, the project will advance the research and application of a number of cross-cutting technologies, supporting the uptake of digital manufacturing within the SME community.

Activities will include:

  • Review the existing list of SME digital requirements.
  • Prioritise the list of SME digital requirements.
  • Capture any additional digital requirements not already listed.

This workshop is completely free and funded by the European Regional Development Fund. It’s delivered by Dorset Growth Hub and WSX Enterprise. It is only open to Dorset, UK registered SME’s and aspiring entrepreneurs within home addresses in Dorset, UK postcodes.

Only one place allowed per business. Please contact the Growth Hub if you wish to reserve a space for another organisation or person.
