Defra’s new digital rod licence application service has recently moved from private to public beta.
Issuing rod licences is on a very large scale. Defra currently issues around 1.2 million every year. There are several different types of licence: adult, junior, senior, concessions, short term and annual licences. The income generated is reinvested into initiatives that benefit anglers.
From the start, Defra’s goal was to make it as simple as possible for people to go fishing. They wanted to replace the old approach, where anglers had to go through a number of different channels, with a simpler one that’s easy for everyone to use. So: how did Defra do it?
Join the upcoming webinar session with Claire Quigley, Technical Advisor at Environment Agency who will take us through the journey of this digital service from the start all the way through to public beta. This webinar will consist of a 30 minute presentation followed by 30 minutes of interactive Q&A.
