Opening of the Estonian Consulate for the North of England

18 April @ 6:30 pm - 8:00 pm, Leeds

Estonian tech Event at aql

Estonia is the home of citizen-centred transformational technology including their world-leading e-residency scheme. This event is to celebrate the opening of the Estonian Consulate in Leeds, during Leeds Digital Festival. The purpose of the Consulate is to provide Consular services to Estonian residents in the North of the UK and the Isle of Man.

On Wednesday 18th April at 6.30pm, the Estonian Ambassador to the UK will open the Consulate for the North of England, and formally appoint aql’s Prof. Adam Beaumont as Estonia’s honorary Consulate General for the North of England and Isle of Man.

There will also be an opportunity to network with some senior representatives of a delegation of visiting Estonian tech businesses.

Please join us for a taste of local produce, a little music and the creation of the Consulate.

The choice of Leeds for the Estonian consulate follows 3 years of developing personal and business relationships with Estonia, from a number of trade missions and trips to several regions of Estonia, but also hosting delegations in Leeds. This has ranged from participation in founding UK:Estonia Techlink, to partnerships between Northinvest and the Estonian Business Angels network, and investment in Estonian startups.
