Join this lecture to hear from Julie Snell, CEO of Bristol is Open, who will speak about some of the hurdles that Bristol must avoid before an effective smart city programme can be implemented. The synergies that are found between cities mean so many of these challenges are replicated across different cities throughout the UK and the world.

Julie will give examples of the projects that Bristol has undertaken to improve the cities services, as well as speaking about successes that Bristol is Open has already had.

As CEO of Bristol is Open Julie is driving innovation that improves the quality of people’s lives. She has a wealth of business expertise including the start-up of BT’s public WiFi network. Julie was BT’s Board member / Chair of the Wireless Broadband Alliance (WBA).

Julie was instrumental in driving the strategic vision to establish public Wi-Fi governance in the legal / technology / billing and customer experience areas globally. In 2019 Julie’s work was recognised as one of the UK’s top Smart City leaders achieving the High Commended award.

Refreshments will be available before the lecture.
