See Defra at Civil Service Live: Using digital and data to transform the way we work

Defra ran an event at Civil Service Live in Gateshead about how it is transforming using digital and data. Those who attended heard talks from Defra leaders involved in transformation, learnt more about the challenges facing government transformation and saw real examples of new digital and data services being developed at Defra.

Many departments are going through immense change, tasked with delivering more with less. This session explored how being creative with data can open up a world of new opportunities. Defra has managed various transformation programmes by using data to facilitate cross-department collaboration, remove duplication and maximise impact. By making its data more accessible to the public it has also created a resource that enables others to innovative and has fostered a range of new partnerships, insights, and entrepreneurial ventures. During this workshop attendees learned how a different approach to data analysis can break down silos between departments, facilitating transformation and the effective delivery of improved digital services. This session was aimed at all-staff.
