Digital Leaders LEP Group

The Local Enterprise Partnerships (LEPs) have a key role to play in delivering growth and skills across England. Digital represents a huge opportunity for economic growth and fostering local digital economies, transforming traditional business into the digital age and ensuring people have the skills to access employment and participate. The Digital Leaders LEP Group brings together the LEPs with the Digital Leaders Community of over 40,000 cross-sector members to create links between the LEP programme and our nine English regional programmes, local partners and to offer links, expertise and a national network.

The Digital Leaders LEP Group will meet four times a year and each region will have the opportunity to host and provide a study tour for DL LEP Group members. Digital Leaders will chair and be the secretariat for the group and will provide global thought leaders to come and share their insights.

As a LEP we are always looking for ways to remain updated and informed, our Growth Hubs are working with a large number of businesses I found the Digital Leaders LEP network very relevant as it provides a national picture from the experts (and those with authority) which we can disseminate to both our own staff and to other SMEs in our areas via the growth hubs.  Cyber security is a great worry and often completely overlooked by some of our smaller emerging start up businesses so having these presentations and our discussion was very informative.

Julie West, New Anglia Local Enterprise Partnership

We keen to share best practice and learn ways to better enable innovation and growth in our businesses across all sectors. The Digital Leaders LEP network is a very useful tool for achieving this goal as it brings together other LEP representatives and also new and exciting digital growth opportunities. The event on The Digital High Street allowed us to understand more about our statistical neighbour Gloucestershire LEP and also to listen to informative presentations on the disruptive technologies creating huge potential for growth particularly for SMEs.
