Cyber Resilience

The UK leads the way in digital transformation. But this innovation needs to be balanced with the risk from cyber-attack. Recent reports show the UK has the highest density of cybercrime victims on an individual level and over half of medium and large businesses have reported security breaches or attacks in the last year. There have also been justified public concerns over AI generated deepfake images and their implications but the ability of machine learning algorithms to detect and react to attacks in real-time, has also produced effective protection against both known and unknown cybersecurity threats. The abilities of an organisation’s people are key to ensuring that they are resilient in the face of this growing risk. An overwhelming majority of successful attacks are a result of human error, meaning if governments, businesses, academia and non-profit organisations can work together to equip their employees with the right skills they can remain resilient against these threats.
