Salon: Putting the Diversity into the North West’s Digital

17 January @ 4:00 pm - 6:00 pm, Manchester

By its inherent nature, tech organisations and those who lead them should be progressive and innovative. However, there is a persisting lack of diversity across the sector.

More diversity in the Tech Sector, beyond white heterosexual males, is a good idea for two reasons. Firstly, an organisation, whatever its sector, that reflects its users is more likely to understand user needs. Secondly, with a shortage of skilled staff, excluding more than half the population as a possible source of talent for the sector makes no sense.

Identity informs your experiences, and these experiences will be vastly different from varied walks of life and culture. That identity and experience is going to impact and inform your ideas, thoughts, and ability to identify challenges, problem solve and innovate.

Join us and lead discussants including Steve Foreshew-Cain, CTO at Co-operative group and Nicky Stewart, Director at UKCloud to talk about how to increase the diversity of the North West’s Digital Sector and why it should be done.

Places are limited and networking drinks will follow the event.
