Being Digital Scoping Review

Written by Professor Simeon Yates, DL Research and Director of the Institute of Cultural Capital

The DL research team are currently running a review of research needs and gaps around the social impacts of digital technologies.  The work is being conducted for the UK’s Economic and Social Research Council and will inform decisions making around future research funding in the area.  The project is entitled “Ways of Being in a Digital Age” and details can be found at: https://waysofbeingdigital.com.

As part of the project we are canvasing opinion on the key research topics and challenges facing academic, industry and policy research regarding the impact of digital on society.  We would be very interested in the opinions of the Digital Leaders community.  If you have 10 or 15 minutes to spare, we would greatly value your input via one of these short questionnaires:

For industry, charity, and public sector colleagues: https://ljmu.onlinesurveys.ac.uk/esrc-being-digital-scoping-review-open-survey-digital-le

For academic and research colleagues: https://ljmu.onlinesurveys.ac.uk/esrc-being-digital-scoping-review-communication-and-relat-2

All the data are being collected anonymously.  The full results of these surveys, and of the overall project will be reported in March and April.  Details of the event and the reports will be distributed to the DL network.  We are also running DL research salons on the topics within the review over the next year .
